Earlier this year, an Inspector General’s report blamed mismanagement for three patient deaths over two years at the Atlanta Veterans Administration Medical Center near Decatur.
Georgia Republican Senator Johnny Isakson, a member of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, had recently expressed frustration at what he called a slow response to his requests for information from Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki.
In a conversation with WABE’s Denis O’Hayer, Isakson said he has now heard from Shinseki, and there will be a field hearing at the Atlanta VA Medical Center in early August.Broadcast VersionExpanded Version
