Snow Flurries In North Georgia Forecast For Wednesday
The National Weather Service is predicting snow flurries in tonight and tomorrow’s forecast for some parts of the Atlanta area.As heard on the radio
National Weather Service meteorologist Jason Deese Tuesday said rain could start falling in the north-metro area as soon as this afternoon, turning into a mix of snow and rain overnight and into Wednesday morning.
He said by Wednesday afternoon, temperatures could dip.
“Even into the southern metro, we could see some light snow flurries,” Deese said of Wednesday’s weather prediction.
Deese said with the exception of some of the mountain regions in northern Georgia, no snow accumulation is expected as a result of the winter weather.
Teri Pope of the Georgia Department of Transportation said GDOT will be monitoring to determine if a special response is needed.
“Depending on what the timing is and how much or how little precipitation is expected tonight, we could call people in to come in overnight, or we could stay on our respond as needed plan,” Pope said. “We won’t know that until later in the day.”
The National Weather Service said the system will likely move out of the region by Wednesday afternoon.
