Malikah Berry Rogers says Black women and girls often have to navigate the world facing racial and gender discrimination.

“It’s so much worse for southern Black girls because not only are they Black girls—but they are in a region that has been historically disinvested in, and if we don’t take care of these girls, we may not meet the next Rosa Parks,” said Berry Rogers on Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look.”

Rogers, who serves as the executive director of the Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium, talked about how her organization is making Black women and girls’ dreams come true and how the organization is investing in other Black women-led programs.
