Rosalind “Roz” Brewer loves Spelman College. In October, she returned to her alma mater as the interim president when it was announced that the school’s 11th president, Dr. Helene Gayle, was taking a personal leave of absence.

Last week, school officials confirmed that Gayle would not be returning and that she was stepping down. Now, as the Board of Trustees at the all-women’s liberal arts college work on a plan to select the school’s next president, Brewer will continue leading the institution.

On Tuesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Brewer talked with show host Rose Scott about her top priorities during this leadership transitional period. She also spoke about her leadership style and highest hopes for the historically black college moving forward.
