Veteran Georgia politician and voting rights activist Stacey Abrams has made extraordinary achievements in public service. She was the first woman to lead either party in the Georgia General Assembly and the first African-American to lead in the House of Representatives.
Abrams founded the voting rights group Fair Fight Action and ran in a historic Georgia governor race twice. In addition to her political career, she is a New York Times best-selling author.
The Atlanta author has written nonfiction, romance novels, political thrillers and children’s stories, the latter genre illustrated by Kitt Thomas. The newest release in her children’s series is “Stacey Speaks Up.”
“Opening the window to the world through literature is how we grow stronger adults. It’s how we manifest a better society,” said Abrams.
