StoryCorps: Angela Ellis and Arletta Brinson
Last month, Mayor Kasim Reed announced that the city is putting Underground Atlanta up for sale, citing that the property is a financial strain. In its heyday in the 1970’s, Underground was a popular tourist destination. Portrait artist Angela Ellis is someone who remembers that time well. She was one of the attraction’s early employees. In the StoryCorps booth, Angela told her friend Arletta Brinson about those days.
