A monthly event that gets storytellers to come out of their shells
Atlanta, Ga – WABE’s Sunday evening audience is probably familiar with The Moth. It’s a storytelling program, started in New York, where tellers have five minutes to tell a story. In February of 2010, a pair of friends, Randy Osborne and Joyce Mitchell, started their own official “Moth-Up” here in Atlanta. Back in June, they decided to break their ties with the Moth in New York, going independent under a new name: Carapace. The event takes place at Manuel’s Tavern in Atlanta on the fourth Tuesday of the month. WABE’s Myke Johns attended last month’s inaugural Carapace event and brought back this story.
