Survey: Atlanta Investors Confident, Mostly

A report released Monday morning shows Atlanta investors are optimistic the economy is getting stronger.

A high percentage of surveyed Atlanta investors feel good about their own portfolios, growth of US and global economies, and their ability to achieve financial goals.

That’s according to the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Investor Pulse Poll.

Walter Jameson is the managing director of Morgan Stanley’s Atlanta region:

“The equity markets in general have been rising in the last two-three years, and that’s reflected in investors’ individual portfolios  as well as in their retirement plans, 401(k) plans, and profit sharing plans.  And that’s a place I think they can see it and feel it,” he says.

The survey covered eight metro areas in the US.

Despite overall confidence, Atlanta was the least bullish of surveyed markets.

Our housing market is to blame, the survey says.

Despite confidence in a national housing recovery, only 34% of investors thought Atlanta’s housing market is on the rebound.
