Suspended DeKalb County School Board Member Indicates Resignation

Nancy Jester, one of six suspended members of the DeKalb County school board, insinuated in a recent blog post that she has resigned. Jester writes she wanted to step down before a federal hearing last Friday. However, she says, if she had, and the judge had ruled in favor of the board instead of the state, the remaining board members would have been able to choose her successor. Jester says she’d prefer the governor and his nominating committee make that decision. In the post, Jester also thanks her constituents and promises to keep writing about educational issues.

WABE has made several attempts to contact Mrs. Jester and will update this story as it develops.
