The 47th annual Atlanta Film Festival and Creative Conference begins
This year’s 47th Atlanta Film Festival and Creative Conference begins April 20 and continues through April 30. The ATLFF is the annual centerpiece of educational film programming provided year-round by its parent organization, the Atlanta Film Society.
Out of 9,000 submissions, the festival has selected more than 160 films this year to screen at various locations around Atlanta. In this interview, Chris Escobar, executive director of the Atlanta Film Festival and owner of the Plaza and Tara Theaters, spoke with “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes about the festival.
“We think of it a little bit like a mix tape of different works and collections that were made independently, but there is an interesting thread when these are watched together,” says Escobar.
WABE is a sponsor of the 2023 Atlanta Film Festival, and more information is available here.
