They say when someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.

When 43-year-old Jacob Ruppert passed away in May 2023, his friends wanted to create a physical treasure to memorialize him. Their efforts resulted in an artistic, loving and beyond-unique tribute.

This, however, is not a story just about an effigy. It’s a story about community, connection, high-fives, cannons and mustard — a lot of mustard.

‘City Lights’ managing producer Kim Drobes spoke with several of Ruppert’s loved ones to learn the story of Jacob Ruppert’s “All Day High Five.”
