Today Marks Deadline for Peachtree Road Race Lottery

If you’re planning on participating in the world’s biggest 10K road race on July 4^th, and you haven’t registered yet, you need to sprint to a computer. The online lottery for the Peachtree Road Race closes at 11:59 tonight. Tracey Russell is the executive director of the Atlanta Track Club, which puts on the race. She says after registration closes, runners won’t be kept in suspense.

“Entrants will be notified by email this Monday, March 26 if they were selected into the race,” she says.

There are 60,000 slots in this year’s race. And if you don’t get in, there’s still hope. Russell says in April the ATC will open an online transfer system, which will allow runners who didn’t get in to purchase numbers from runners who can’t run the race.
