Dr. Michael Francis, a bioinformatician and DNA researcher at the University of Georgia, says the vegetarian diet is one of the fastest-growing diets in the U.S.

Francis, who once was a vegetarian, is the lead author of a new study that explores how genes influence a person’s response to nutrients.

On Monday’s edition of “Closer Look,” he talked with show host Rose Scott about some of the key findings of his study.  He also explained why he started eating meat again and why a vegetarian diet is not one-size-fits-all.
