The term “Underflow,” or undercurrent, suggests underlying themes of fluidity and struggle that lie just below the surface.

“Underflow” is also the title of a new group exhibition at the Zuckerman Museum of Kennesaw State University, which brings together five Afro-Caribbean artists to celebrate their work and explore the concepts of fluidity and struggle.

The show is on view Aug. 29-Dec. 9. In this interview, Curator Cynthia Thompson and artist David Antonio Cruz join “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to talk about the exhibition.

“I wanted it to be a real celebration of the cultures that these individuals are part of and their landscapes and their narratives that are associated with those cultures,” Thompson said.

“{UNDER}flow, A Group Exhibition” is on view through Dec. 9 at the Zuckerman Museum at Kennesaw. More information is available here.
