Atlanta-based UPS, the world’s largest package delivery company, is hosting its annual “Brown Friday” hiring event, with over 600 in-person and virtual events nationwide on Nov. 3rd and 4th.

The event hopes to be a scouting ground to hire 60,000 of the 100,000 seasonal employees it needs for the holidays.

After a less-than-ideal 3Q earnings report that saw an over 12% year-over-year decrease in revenue, CEO Carol Tomé said in a press release that the company is “well-prepared for the peak holiday season.”

The Atlanta-based company states that it is already recovering customers who switched to other delivery services due to the averted Teamsters strike, a labor shortage, supply chain crisis and inflation all putting the well known delivery service to the test.

“Volume that diverted during our labor negotiations is starting to return to our network,” said Tomé.

UPS and its competitors, FedEx, United States Postal Service, and even Amazon’s Delivery service program, are gearing up for a busy next few months.

The delivery giant, which has been in operation since 1907, expects volume to increase through the yearly holiday shipping rush.

“We are bringing back the remaining volume plus winning new volume, so we’re laser-focused on restoring volume in our network,” said UPS spokesperson Bria Woods.

Available positions include package handlers, driver helpers, and seasonal support drivers, with wages starting as high as $23 an hour.

According to a recent press release, 80% of the positions available do not require an interview.

“A candidate can get a job offer in hand in 20 minutes or less,” said Woods.
