The clinical director of the Covid Task Force at Piedmont Healthcare says the COVID-19 pandemic is multi-layered and that she hopes everyone works together to reach a degree of immunity and get the virus under control.

“Vaccines don’t save people, vaccinations do,” said Atlanta-based cardiologist Jayne Morgan on Tuesday’s edition of “Closer Look.”

During the virtual conversation, Morgan shared with show host Rose Scott that Piedmont Healthcare is serving patients battling coronavirus and established clinics to distribute COVID-19 vaccinations.

Morgan, who has also served as a volunteer vaccinator, says the time is now for everyone to step up to help combat COVID-19.

She also talked with Scott about President Joe Biden’s vaccination plan, the importance of Black people and Hispanics participating in clinical trials and the skepticism about the coronavirus vaccines.
