ATLANTA (AP) — WABE, Atlanta’s NPR and PBS station, is proud to announce a multiplatform, weeklong celebration of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) happening Oct. 19-26, 2024. The celebration includes a series of special broadcasts on both WABE TV and WABE 90.1, as well as a free community screening event.

“Atlanta’s unique position as home to the Atlanta University Center puts WABE in a prime spot to amplify the important stories coming out of institutions such as Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College, Morehouse College, and Morris Brown College to audiences across the nation,” said Alison Hashimoto, WABE Studios SVP. “We’re deeply appreciative of Maryland Public Television’s support in bringing these compelling narratives to light. This collaboration allows us to celebrate the legacy and future of HBCUs, not just in Atlanta, but throughout the country.”
