Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens appeared at a ribbon-cutting event for the first public access to the Chattahoochee River on Dec. 2 at the park. The newly reconstructed park is part of the Chattahoochee RiverLands park and trail reconstruction project.
The Standing Peachtree Park now has gravel trails, a ramp and a wheelchair-accessible kayak launch to allow guests to more easily reach the water.

It’s former U.S. Sen. David Perdue of Georgia.
President-elect Donald Trump nominated Perdue as his U.S. ambassador to China. The nomination will need to be confirmed by the Senate.
Perdue lost his Senate reelection race against Democrat Jon Ossoff in the 2020 election and lost again in the 2022 gubernatorial primary against Brian Kemp.
Trump also tapped former Sen. Kelly Loeffler to lead the Small Business Administration and former U.S. Rep. Doug Collins to head the VA.

Bryce Berry was newly elected to Georgia’s House of Representatives and will take office in January. Berry won 84% of the vote for the District 56 seat, beating incumbent Republican Mesha K. Mainor.
He currently works as a 7th grade math teacher in southwest Atlanta.
#4. Who won in the December runoff election for the Atlanta City Council At-Large seat?
It’s Eshé Collins.
The Atlanta Public Schools Board of Education member won 60% of the vote against Dr. Nicole Evans Jones, a longtime school administrator, in the December runoff election. The two candidates made it to the runoff after no single candidate garnered over 50% of the vote in November.
Collins will replace former councilwoman Keisha Sean Waites for the remainder of her term, which lasts until Dec. 31, 2025.
#5. Who is Atlanta's most streamed artist for Spotify Wrapped 2024?
It’s Taylor Swift.
The pop superstar was Atlanta’s top artist of 2024 on Spotify, and her album “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology” also topped the list of most streamed album for the city. She also dominated the most streamed artist and album of the year categories globally. Drake, Future, Morgan Wallen and Zach Bryan were the most streamed artists following Swift.
Jimin’s “Who” and “Like Crazy” also took first and fifth place for Atlanta listeners, even though the K-pop artist didn’t end up making it on the national or global top 10 lists for songs, albums or artists.
