It’s Killer Mike.

The Atlanta rapper said in a statement released Tuesday that an “over-zealous” security guard contributed to the physical altercation that led to his arrest after the rapper and activist won three awards at the Grammys.

In his statement, Mike thanked the Grammys for recognizing his work. He also noted that he and his wife are “elated” after finding out Monday that their son — who was on a list for a kidney for years — found a match.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 29 in Los Angeles.

People have known about the coral in the plateau for decades, but scientists only recently realized the scale of it. In a paper published in the journal Geomatics, a team of researchers describe what they call a deep sea coral province spanning an area about the size of the state of Vermont.

After Georgia’s new political maps were passed in 2021, thousands of Black voters were impacted across Georgia. Districts were strategically packed and cracked in ways that diluted the power of the Black vote.

Despite accounting for most of the population growth, Black Georgians had a disproportionate chance of electing who they want.

The Senate voted 31-22 to pass Senate Bill 189, sending it on to the House for more debate. It would mandate that printed text on ballots must be used to count votes, rather than a QR code, a type of barcode.

Opponents are calling the bill a step back from years of criminal justice reform.

Opponents of the measure also say it could cause people accused of crimes to lose their jobs, homes, custody of their children and even their pets when they land in jail and can’t afford the sum of money that is required in exchange for their release.
