#3. On Tuesday, Atlanta Public Schools announced Dr. Bryan Johnson, an award-winning ___________ educator, as the sole finalist for the district’s new superintendent.
It’s Tennessee.
Dr. Bryan Johnson comes to APS after serving as executive vice chancellor and chief strategy officer at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
The APS board’s decision comes after months of searching for a candidate to fill the role after the dismissal of former Superintendent Lisa Herring in 2023.
#4. Athlete Kai Lightner has won 12 national titles and several youth world championship medals while competing in which sport?
It’s Rock Climbing.
Lightner, who spent some time in College Park as a kid, raised over $100,000 for a rock climbing wall that he later donated to the city of College Park to introduce the sport to the community’s youth.
The rock climbing wall project was a first for Lightner’s nonprofit, Climbing For Change. His goal was to increase Black youth’s access to rock climbing.
