Georgia voters approved Amendment 1, which will cap property tax increases across the state unless local governments opt-out.
Voters also approved Amendment 2, which will establish a tax court in the judicial system instead of the current tax tribunal in the executive branch of the state. This also means the Georgia Court of Appeals will hear appeals to tax cases rather than the Fulton County Superior Court.
Finally, Georgians approved Referendum A, which raises the maximum threshold for tax exemptions on tangible personal property from property valued at $7,500 or less to property valued at $20,000 or less.
