NPR’s comedy news quiz show “Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me!” is known for giving well-known figures across a variety of professions a chance to have some fun and show their humorous side. A touring version of the show, the Wait Wait Stand-Up Tour, is coming to Atlanta Symphony Hall on Sept. 8, hosted by regular panelist and comedian Alonzo Bodden.

The show will feature 20-minute performances by star panelists Dulce Sloan, Josh Gondelman and Negin Farsad. According to Bodden, who recently joined Lois Reitzes on “City Lights” to discuss the show, each of the comics brings a different flavor of comedy to the tour, and audiences can look forward to seeing the comics in a new, shorter format.

The show format is less family-friendly than the eponymous “Wait Wait,” but only because the comics are uncensored and unburdened by the language limitations imposed on radio programming by the FCC.
