Weekend Traffic Report: Road Construction
The Georgia Department of Transportation is offering fair warning: things are going to be slow on the interstates around Atlanta this weekend.
GDOT spokesman Mark McKinnon says there will be several major projects going on that will cause delays including the final work on I-20 eastbound just outside I-285. “We’re gonna be closing some ramps out there and trying to get some paving done so that we can move that one and get it done at the end of July,” says McKinnon.
On the top end of I-285, in sections between Paces Ferry Road and Ashford-Dunwoody Road, crews will also be paving all weekend and will have to close up to three lanes of traffic in both directions.
There will also be roadwork at I-285 and Georgia-400 and at the I-285/I-75 interchange.
