While National Candidates Debate, Many Georgia Candidates Decline
The strong performance by GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney in the first presidential debate showed how much a campaign can benefit from debates. But here in Georgia, candidates from both parties are declining debate and forum invitations in big numbers. To try to understand why, WABE’s Denis O’Hayer spoke with former Georgia Democratic Party executive director Steve Anthony, who’s now a lecturer in political science at Georgia State University.
