Jewish girl discovers magical abilities in Atlanta coming-of-age story 'The Witch of Woodland'

Award-winning Atlanta-based author Laurel Snyder is known for her numerous picture books and novels for children, including “Orphan Island,” and “My Jasper June.”

Her newest offering is “The Witch of Woodland,” a magical modern-day story rooted in the Jewish faith and a strong belief in magic. The story is set in our city, with the intown neighborhood of Ormewood Park in East Atlanta as the backdrop. The book is coming out on Walden Pond Press on May 16.

In this interview, “City Lights” senior producer Kim Drobes speaks with the author about her newest magical venture.
